Traffic Control Course This course enables participants to learn about the use of the Stop / Slow Bat. At the completion, successful participants will receive a certificate of training and a laminated photo card usually referred to as: Blue Card (Work Activity Training using a Stop Slow Bat in the construction or non construction industry) eg road works, building sites Grey Card (Work Activity Training using a Stop Slow Bat only in the non-construction industry) eg event management, car parks, security, clubs, logistics and warehousing. This will enable the holder to undertake work involving traffic control using bats or night wand, and to use radio communication with other team members. The RTA NSW Traffic Control Photo Card is valid for 3 years from date of training. Note: From Nov 1, 2006, new applicants for RTA traffic control qualifications are required to hold, or have held, a drivers licence (min green "p")
The NSW RTA can provide a transcript for applicants who no longer possess their NSW drivers licence.
People who have previously held a traffic controllers certificate can re-apply without the need to show a drivers licence provided their certificate is current or has not expired by more than 2 years. Course Cost: $150 (this course is exempt from gst as it is a requirement for work) Payment can be made by credit card prior to the day, or paid on the day by cash, eftpos or credit card. What to bring: A good attitude! Remember you will be dealing with the general public. Safety Shoes, (no thongs, high heels or sandals) Wet weather gear if it looks like raining on the day of training If you have your own safety vest bring this, but we have these anyway. Evidence of a drivers licence - either: Current NSW Drivers Licence (min green P2), or Expired or Cancelled Drivers Licence (min green P2), or NSW RTA Transcipt of previous drivers licence (min green P2), or Interstate Licence (unrestricted), or Overseas Licence equivalent, or Previous NSW RTA traffic controllers card - current or not expired by more than 2 years
(note that drivers licence or transcript must be, or have been, a Green P or higher)
WorkCover NSW OHS Induction Certificate (Green/White Card) issued in or after April 2004 (for Blue Card applications only) (Note that in addition to the RTA Blue Card, you will need a current WorkCover NSW OHS Induction Certificate (Green/White Card) prior to undertaking actual Traffic Control work in the construction industry.

What to expect on the day: A photo of each participant will be taken on the day (for the Blue Card and Grey Card) Morning - Theory and test (note that a high mark will be required in order to pass) Afternoon - Practical Test and Assessment of Competency (Stopping Traffic, Starting Traffic and using radios)
This course is delivered by a trainer licenced by the Roads & Traffic Authority of NSW
